Messages your team sends from Bitrix24's Webmail, CRM and Marketing can go out through an external SMTP server. You add it as a separate SMTP sender in the From field: mail then leaves from your own domain, signed with its DKIM key, and passes SPF and DMARC at the recipient. Below is the setup for Postwing.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| SMTP host | smtp.postwing.app |
| Port | 465 |
| Encryption | SSL/TLS (implicit, encrypted from the first byte) |
| Username | The login of an SMTP token for your domain |
| Password | The password of that token — shown once, when the token is created |
Go to Webmail → New message, click the arrow next to the From field and choose Add sender → SMTP. If no mailbox is connected in Webmail yet, Bitrix24 asks you to connect one first.
One setup is enough — from Webmail, CRM or Marketing. The sender then appears in the From list in all three.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Sender name | Your company name — recipients see it |
| Available to everyone | Tick it if colleagues should send from this address |
| Email address | sales@your-domain.com — on your verified domain |
| Server and port | smtp.postwing.app and 465 |
| Use SSL | Ticked |
| Login | The login of an SMTP token for your domain |
| Password | That token's password |
| Set email daily limit | Optional — for example, your plan's daily volume |
# or ^. Token passwords are letters and digits only, so paste it as it is. The Email address must be on the domain you verified — not a subdomain of it, and not a Gmail or Outlook.com address. Postwing only accepts a message whose envelope sender is on your domain, and DKIM and SPF only vouch for that domain.
An SMTP sender only sends: it is not shown in Webmail and receives nothing. Replies go to the Email address, so use a real mailbox rather than noreply@. To see replies inside Bitrix24, connect that mailbox in Webmail as a regular one.
Write yourself a message from Webmail or from a CRM record and pick the new sender in the From field. The message appears in your domain's sending log in the Postwing dashboard, along with how delivery went.
If you send campaigns through this sender, keep your plan's hourly and monthly limits and a new domain's warm-up in mind — see sending limits. The daily limit on the sender keeps a campaign from hitting the plan limit half-way through.
On-premise, only an administrator can add an SMTP sender. The portal itself runs on the 1C-Bitrix platform, and its system mail goes out through the platform's mail settings — covered in the 1C-Bitrix guide.
| Error | Cause and fix |
|---|---|
| Connection error | Use SSL does not match the port — with 465 it must be ticked. On-premise, the host may block the port: use 8465 with SSL ticked. |
| Authentication error | Login still holds the Email address, or the token password was copied incompletely. |
550 from must be equal to … | The Email address is not on your verified domain — a subdomain or a public mailbox. |
550 hourly limit exceeded | The plan's hourly limit is used up and the message was refused. Send it again later and set a daily limit on the sender. |
| No replies visible | An SMTP sender receives nothing. Connect the mailbox from the Email address field in Webmail. |
| Mail goes to spam | The sender address is on someone else's domain, or your domain is not verified yet. |
In the From field of any message: Webmail → New message → the arrow next to From → Add sender → SMTP. You only need to do it once, from Webmail, CRM or Marketing — the sender then shows up in the From list in all three.
Port 465 with Use SSL ticked — that is a connection encrypted from the first byte. The checkbox and the port have to agree: SSL against a port that expects STARTTLS fails before authentication.
Usually the Login field still holds the address from the Email address field — Bitrix24 copies it there automatically. An SMTP token's login also looks like an address on your domain, but it is a different string. Copy it from the token page and replace the pre-filled value.
Yes. The SMTP sender appears in the From field when you email from a deal, lead or contact. Tick Available to everyone if other employees should be able to send from that address too.
That is by design: an SMTP sender only sends and is not shown in Webmail. Replies go to the address in the Email address field — to see them in Bitrix24, connect that mailbox separately as a regular mailbox.
Check the sender's Email address: it must be on the domain you verified. The DKIM key and SPF record are published on your domain and vouch for nothing on Gmail or Outlook.com, so DMARC fails at the recipient.
Only an administrator. In cloud Bitrix24 every employee can add a sender for themselves.
